Deniece Cook

I moved to Johnstown with my parents and sister in 1970, when I was starting the 3rd grade. I attended elementary, middle and high school here and am a proud RHS graduate, class of 1980. After finishing college and starting my teaching career at Milliken Middle School, my husband and I moved back to raise our children in 1990 and we have been here since. I taught at Milliken Middle School for 10 years and Roosevelt High School for another 9 years. I have been working as a high school administrator in Longmont for the past 13 years.

I always enjoyed yoga but, struggled with being able to access some poses and didn’t know why, I thought I wasn’t flexible enough. I became a dedicated practitioner after finding the right teacher who helped me learn how to use props. In 2019, I decided to deepen my practice and train as a yoga teacher through the Front Range Community College Yoga Teacher Training Certificate program. Currently I am a 200-hour registered yoga instructor and am in the process of completing my 300-hour training. I’ve been teaching since 2019 and am thoroughly dedicated to bringing the practice to others. I attended the Yoga Teacher Conference in Denver in 2022 and it further inspired me to continue in this pathway.

I specialize in gentle, prenatal, restorative and slow vinyasa yoga flow. I also can lead
meditation sessions. I am dedicated to my mission: “Making Yoga Accessible for All” and I look
forward to serving the community.
